Senior Healthcare Attorney Kathy W. Nichols Elected to Chair of Healthcare Law Section of the Orange County Bar Association

Carlson & Jayakumar LLP, a Southern California-based law firm focused on employment litigation and healthcare law, announced today that Senior Healthcare Attorney, Kathy W. Nichols was elected Chair of the Healthcare Law Section of the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA).

Established in 1901, the OCBA has more than 9,000 members and is one of the largest voluntary bar associations in California. Members meet regularly in sections and committees dedicated to various areas of law and issues of concern to the legal community. The mission of the Orange County Bar Association is to enhance the system of justice, to support the lawyers who serve it, and to assist the community served by it.

Ms. Nichols has been practicing law since 2003, and currently represents a variety of clients including hospitals, physicians, licensed healthcare professionals, and professional corporations. Ms. Nichols has extensive experience representing licensed professionals before the California Medical Board and Board of Chiropractic Examiners from the investigation stage through trial. She also represents physicians and medical groups in Medicare and private healthcare insurance audits and fraud investigations. Ms. Nichols received her J.D. in 2003 from the Chapman University School of Law in Orange, California, and her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Riverside in 1999.
