Meet Kim Worobec, Our Newest Healthcare Law & Litigation Attorney!

With over two decades of experience in healthcare law and litigation, Kim  Worobec is senior counsel at Carlson & Jayakumar with a focus on managed care reimbursement and managed care contracting disputes. Her areas of expertise include the Knox-Keene Act and regulations thereunder, ERISA, Medicare reimbursement and claims processing rules, fraud and abuse, and regulatory compliance with government programs such as Medi-Cal managed care plans and Medicare Advantage plans.

Ms. Worobec’s extensive knowledge of health law standards, revenue cycle, and provider operations, coupled with her detailed analytical skills, create opportunities for creative problem-solving and early resolution of disputes – saving her clients time and money while yielding cost-effective and timely results. Her thorough, proactive, and collaborative approach engages payors and outside counsel, and supports positive payor-provider relationships.  She has a sustained record of serving as a strong and effective advocate and producing excellent legal writing in complex and high-stakes litigation to successfully recover tens of millions of dollars for her clients.

Prior to joining Carlson & Jayakumar, Ms. Worobec worked at both large and boutique law firms, with nationally-recognized health law practices, where she represented community hospitals, trauma centers, academic medical centers, cancer, psychiatric and other specialty hospitals, laboratories, and other healthcare providers.

Kim Worobec received her J.D. in 2001 from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law, and graduated from Columbia University in 1994 with an A.B. degree in Political Science.

She lives in Los Angeles County where she enjoys cheering on her son at his weekend soccer games.
